EWL Contribution to the future of European gender equality policies

Read the European Women Lobby’s (EWL) response to the Consultation on the Roadmap for equality between women and men 2006-2010 and follow-up strategy.

The European Women Lobby (EWL) drafted a document presented its contribution to the follow-up strategy to the Roadmap for equality between women and men. The European Commission Roadmap for equality between women and men2006-2010 is the general policy framework for equality at EU level and is coming to an end in 2010, the Commission will present a follow-up strategy in 2010 and therefore launched a consultation on this future strategy.


The EWL answer is based on the consultation of its member organizations and on the input and discussions with other networks. It stresses the need for a stronger document accompanied by a budget and proposing concrete measures in a number of policy areas.

The document is divided in two parts: Part I contains the EWL replies to the European Commission questionnaire and Part II contains EWL specific more detailed recommendations for the different policy areas
